The Shapeoko HDZ for Shapeoko 3 (Upgrade from XXL Belt Drive) is a premium upgrade designed to enhance the performance of the Shapeoko 3 CNC machine. This Heavy-Duty Z/X axis replacement is precision-milled to provide increased rigidity without sacrificing Z clearance. It is engineered around a ball screw and linear rails, allowing for smooth movement even when accommodating a substantial spindle.

The HDZ offers 150mm of Z-travel and features a robust 15mm machined aluminum back plate. It is compatible with heavy 2.2kw spindles, supported by a new 80mm mount. The kit includes inductive proximity switches and mounts for the X, Y, and Z axes, ensuring comprehensive support from Carbide 3D and Carbide Motion software.

This upgrade kit arrives pre-assembled and is 95% ready for installation, requiring minimal integration with existing hardware such as the spindle mount and limit switches. It is important to note that the upgrade necessitates a change to the included proximity homing switches, and is only compatible with machines featuring the Carbide Motion PCB version 2.4d or higher.

Note: Ensure approximately 270mm of clearance from the top of the X rail if the machine is enclosed.
