The Pololu 10:1 Micro Metal Gearmotor HP 6V w/ 12 CPR Encoder, Back Connector is a compact brushed DC motor equipped with a metal gearbox and an integrated encoder. The gearbox features a cross-section of 10×12 mm and a D-shaped output shaft measuring 9 mm in length and 3 mm in diameter. This motor is designed to provide high performance with a gear ratio of approximately 9.96:1, making it suitable for applications requiring precise control and high torque.

The integrated encoder is a two-channel incremental Hall effect type, which detects the rotation of a magnetic disk attached to the motor shaft. It offers a resolution of 12 counts per revolution (CPR) of the motor shaft, which can be adjusted by the gearbox reduction factor to achieve higher CPR for the gearbox output. The encoder is connected via a 6-pin JST SH-style male connector, compatible with corresponding cables and connector boards.

The motor terminals are accessible through specific connector pins, allowing for flexible operation by alternating the polarity of the power supply. The encoder outputs digital signals that indicate motor direction and speed, with built-in hysteresis to prevent signal errors. This motor is powered through designated pins, supporting a voltage range from 2.7 V to 18 V.
